Insufficient Sleep Syndrome
Description
As the name implies, insufficient sleep syndrome occurs when a person does not get enough sleep at night. Patients make the decision to sleep less than they should, and it is not another sleep disorder preventing them from sleeping. If a patient simply sleeps more, he or she will feel better.
Diagnosis
Patients complain of drowsiness during the day which oftentimes will affect work and relationships. It is rare that a sufferer will sleep as much as eight hours a night.
Treatment
Once diagnosed, insufficient sleep syndrome is easily treated. Once patients begin sleeping more, the symptoms disappear.
