Nasal Spray Found to Help Kids with Sleep Apnea

July 9, 2008 – A study done by the University of Louisville, Kentucky, found that the corticosteroid drug budesonide in nasal spray form helps children with mild sleep apnea.
The study, performed over a 6-week period, studied children with mild apnea and found that just over half of the children who were given the nasal spray had normal nighttime breathing.
This particular study shows that rather than surgically removing adenoids and tonsils in children, they could use bedusonide to treat children with mild obstructive sleep apnea.
