Work Productivity and Insomnia
Ever wondered how effective insomniacs are at work?
Insomniacs are not counterproductive workers, they are just very tired, according to research presented at the Sleep 2007 meeting in Minneapolis in June.
According to his research, T. McClure and his team looked at the daytime functional impairment of insomniacs.
What they found were that insomniacs had a much higher rate of absenteeism, increased work related problems. However, when they looked at whether the insomniacs purposely made errors or purposely did inappropriate behaviors, they found no greater instance.
Work Productivity in Insomnia by T. McClure, C. Drake and T. Roth was presented at Sleep 2007, the 21st annual meeting of the Association Professional Sleep Professionals Societies, LLC.
